Dr. Saurabh Rawall
Dr. Saurabh Rawall is a renowned Spine & Scoliosis Surgeon with more than 12 years experience in the field of spinal surgery. He is famous nationally as well as internationally for his complex spine surgical work. He did his graduation as well as post graduation in Orthopaedics from the prestigious All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. It was here that he was inspired to pursue Spine Surgery by his teacher Prof. Arvind Jayaswal. He got selected for the 2 year FNB Spine Fellowship programme at Hinduja Hospital, Mumbai. Thereafter, he trained at the Univ. of Calgary, Canada for 1 year with Neurosurgeons as well as Ortho-Spine Surgeons to fine tune his skills with minimally invasive spine surgery, adult deformity and revision spine surgery. Furthermore, he trained in scoliosis & kyphosis surgery at Westmead Childrens’ Hospital, Sydney, Australia for 6 months.
During his training, Dr. Rawall had the opportunity of training with international stalwarts in the field of spine surgery like Dr. John Hurlbert and Dr. Andrew Cree. Since his return to India in 2013, he has performed more than 1000 spinal surgeries. In addition, he also performs a lot of epidural nerve root blocks for pain management. He worked as Head of Department at Jaypee Hospital, Noida before joining Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals. He is an expert in providing spinal surgery for al pathologies from occiput to pelvis. He is specifically trained to perform complex spinal deformity surgery as well as revision spine surgery. He gives a lot of importance to performing spine surgery in a minimally invasive fashion with keyhole & endoscopic techniques without disturbing the normal architecture of the spine.
Dr. Rawall has done original research work on Vertebroplasty for Osteoporotic Spinal Fractures, Multi Drug Resistant Tuberculosis as well as Low Cost Spinal Implants manufactured in India. His research work is published in various international journals and he has been invited to speak at many international forums and won many awards and accolades for his original research work. He has a passion for teaching and is actively involved in mentoring and training budding spinal surgeons.
